As I understand it, Shawn seeking treatment is a pre-condition to dprjones not taking legal action? against him. This promise was made with the full knowledge of Shawn's parents. Oh and apparently Shawn's father has informed him that he will NOT fund Shawn's defense if he breaks his promise, so his rich family will not save him. I hope that's enough to force him to seek help. Once he's better he'll see it was worth it.

Azadi, taking religion out of government is endorsing separation of church and state, not endorsing? atheists. If religion is in government, especially in a representative government (like the US) then laws will be passed that are not balanced because there aren't equal numbers of each religion. Granted b/c the gov is supposed to be representative, this shouldn't be an issue, b/c the majority should win, though this doesn't promote equality, it just promotes the majority stance.

If you allowed people to post religious? texts, etc in public areas, there would be a disproportionate amount of religious stuff in the area. So even if all religions are treated equally, it wouldn't be perceived as such, simply b/c of the disproportionate measures. The prohibition is only in government areas b/c that instills sep of church and state

That is apples and oranges.? Being naked in public is a decency issue not a free speech issue. I bet if I stood on the street corner and handed out pamphlets that say Jesus was a false prophet I would be treated much better. That sounds to me like a government that is run by it's religious leaders. Now I'm not saying we are a lot better here in the US but we certainly are less obvious about it.

People? as individuals can profess any belief they want and talk about it wherever they want. The government as an entity, in order to preserve freedom for people of all religions, should stay the fuck out of it. Associating the government with one religion opens a dangerous road to religiously motivated laws that can harm the religious freedoms of all of it's citizens, not just atheists.
